Wedding Cakes - Up Close

I wanted to do a post where we show you more than just a full image of the cakes. A lot of our cakes have so much detail that they look stunning from far away but once you get up close you can really see the delicate details.

Here is a cake we made back in December for a wedding at Whittlebury Hall, Towcester. They had the design called 'Harper' that is usually completely ivory but Ambareen included the colours that matched their theme such as grape, burgundy  dark purple, navy blue & dark green and each of the flowers had gold pearls in the centres.

This is the close-up of the cake and the handmade flowers.

This is the cake set up at the venue (Whittlebury Hall) with the bride & groom. The flowers in the jars were to be for the tables and hadn't been set up yet but I thought the cake looked nice with all the different colour flowers around it!

This is also 'Harper' but is completely ivory, with pearl centres.

Here is one of our new designs called 'Ava'. Each tier has a wreath of roses & other flowers going around and would be perfect for a Spring wedding! All of the flowers are handmade & are completely edible!

'Pearl' is a lovely cake that has 'necklaces' delicately piped all over the cake. It also has roses on the top tier and a few on the other tiers.

Tammie is one of our most popular designs for this year as it's a great way to incorporate different elements into your cake. It features large & small roses, daisies & other flowers and is finished off with a few butterflies flowing up the cake.

'Darcy' is quite a vintage themed cake in creams, peaches & deep dusky pinks. Each of the tiers has a different style of piping on whilst the top tier is finished off with a cluster of deep dusky pink roses.

I hope you enjoyed our 'close ups' of our wedding cakes...it definitely shows all the delicate details on our cakes!

Jack & Michelle's Big Fat Sponsored Wedding

December 15th 2012 was Michelle & Jack's big day...but it wasn't your typical wedding! Everything on the day from the venue to the cake was sponsored for their special day & it was advertised through their website. Michelle had seen weddings similar to this in America but they only advertised to the guests, so Michelle decided to have their own sponsored wedding but advertise to a much wider audience. She created a website that had a section dedicated to each supplier and advertised online and in magazines such as Image. It soon became a huge sensation and bloggers everywhere have been talking about it!

We created Michelle & Jack's wedding cake for their special day. It was a four tier with red & white cascading flowers and each tier had a different design from frills to pearls! It complemented their Christmas wedding perfectly. Take a look at some of the photos from their big day!

The photographer for the day was Carl Thomson Photography who took some gorgeous photos of the happy couple and their guests!

They also had a video of their wedding made by Electra Film Weddings which features the happy couple cutting their cake!
